Monteferrante, a tiny mountain town in the province of Chieti and region of Abruzzo, has 128 residents as of 2017. Around since the Middle Ages, in the early 1900s, it was a farming community. However, many residents migrated to the United States and the Americas during the mid-1900s. This included my mom, uncle, Nonna and Tatone. Many residents settled in Union County, New Jersey.

Now Monteferrante is primarily a summer retreat. Former residents of the village, like my family did, continue to own homes in the village. Others seek is as a retreat from the intense Italian sun.

During August of 2017, I made my first visit to Monteferrante. These are the sights of what I saw. My Nonna's Pasta Grannies fame originated.

This is my first newspaper but not my first forecast for NJ. I graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology from Rutgers. Two TV internships gave me a taste for the newsroom. Then, after nearly 4 years in private NJ weather, I'm forecasting South Jersey for you.
