Imelda Marcos

Her dress spattered with blood, Philippines first lady Imelda Marcos is helped to a waiting helicopter after she was stabbed by an unidentified man who was later killed by guards. Mrs. Marcos was reported stabbed in the arm and hand but not seriously injured, a semiofficial report said. The attack occurred at Pasay City, a suburb of Manila on Dec. 7, 1972, while Mrs. Marcos was handing out awards for a contest. (AP Photo)
