Anthony J. Wilkinson

Anthony J. Wilkinson is the creator and author of the Big Gay Italian Trilogy. Wilkinson will be performing in "My Big Gay Italian Christmas" at 8 p.m. July 28 at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City.

For the first time ever, Golden Nugget Atlantic City is holding an open casting call Friday for a live theater production.

Actors and wannabe actors will appear from 1 to 8 p.m. in the Newport Room in front of a select panel of judges, including Stefanie Ryan-Showell, the vice president of Weist-Barron-Ryan Acting Workshops in Pleasantville, Anthony J. Wilkinson, the creator and author of the production, which is titled "My Big Gay Italian Christmas."

"My Big Gay Italian Christmas" is officially set to open during Christmas in July weekend at 8 p.m. July 28. The show was previewed last December at the Golden Nugget and is being brought back this summer.

"My Big Gay Italian Christmas" is the follow up Wilkinson's Big Gay Italian Trilogy, "My Big Gay Italian Wedding," "My Big Gay Italian Funeral" and "My Big Gay Italian Midlife Crisis."

Wilkinson embodies the character of Anthony Pinnunziato. Kim Pirrella of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey"  and Debra Toscano will be returning as Olivia Tuttarosa  and Aunt Toniann respectively. The Queen of Freestyle, Judy Torres will be returning to Atlantic City in the role of Officer Rodriguez.

All other roles will be scouted and cast after the casting call.

"A bisexual love triangle, political conversations gone spoiled, a variety of over the top characters, and the snow storm of the century, are just a few ingredients of this Big Gay Italian Christmas lasagna," said Wilkinson, who added the play is loosely based on his own life story.
