ATLANTIC CITY — The newly crowned Miss America 2019 Nia Franklin will sing at Bay Atlantic Symphony’s 11th Annual Gala featuring: An Evening with Jason Alexander on Saturday.

Franklin, also an advocate for education in the arts, will sing the National Anthem at the opening of the concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at Borgata Casino Hotel and Spa’s Music Box Theater.

“We are thrilled to welcome special guest performer Miss America 2019 Nia Franklin to the stage for our annual gala concert,” Music Director for Bay Atlantic Symphony Jed Gaylin said in a statement. “As an accomplished composer of music and performer, Nia’s Miss America Social Impact Initiative of Advocating for the Arts, brings renewed energy and lends an important voice to the mission we work so hard to promote as a community symphony orchestra – which is to share the beauty, power and value of classical music with successive generations."

Franklin, of Brooklyn, New York, sang in opera style during the talent portion of the competition earlier this month and held a social impact statement of “Advocating for the Arts.”
