ATLANTIC CITY — A city man who has been charged in a string of commercial thefts this year was arrested Friday for burglarizing a bar in the Showboat hotel, police said.
James Mason, 50, stole cash and caused more than $5,000 in damage to the Worship Surf Bar on Thursday, police said.
Mason was arrested at his house in the 200 block of North New York Avenue and charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
He has been charged in at least seven commercial burglaries in the past 10 months.
In February, Mason was charged in burglaries at Michael’s Fila store and Rainforest Café on the Boardwalk and Chelsea Pizza II on Atlantic Avenue.
He was arrested in September for breaking into the Choice Bar and Grill and Zaffran Restaurant on separate dates, police said. He was also charged with three counts of burglary and theft for burglarizing Mango’s Restaurant on South Pennsylvania Avenue on Jan. 10, police said.
Mason is being held in the Atlantic County jail.
