ATLANTIC CITY — An operation targeting prostitution in the resort resulted in the arrests of 19 women and one man Saturday, police said.

Sgt. Kevin Fair said in a statement that detectives with the Police Department’s Special Investigations Section conducted the operation along Pacific Avenue and in the city’s casinos.

Seven of those arrested were from Atlantic City, two were from Las Vegas and the rest were from Atlantic, Cape May and other counties in New Jersey. Their ages ranged from 19 to 55.

Police said six of the women had active warrants for their arrest and were taken to the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing. The rest were released on summonses and are scheduled for future court appearances.
