ATLANTIC CITY — Police are investigating an incident in which an officer was injured during a foot pursuit.

Police tweeted just after 6 p.m. to use caution near the 4000 block of Ventnor Avenue because of the incident, and the area was closed.

The tweet said one man was in custody, that an officer was injured but did not specify the type of injury, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Officers were on the scene with paramedics. Crowds  gathered along Ventnor Avenue outside homes and businesses to watch police work.

Ventnor Avenue from Dover to Richmond avenues reopened about 6:30 p.m.
