Atlantic City police on Monday night arrested a man suspected in the June shooting of an 18-year-old city resident.

Police say that Marcelino Martinez, 28, of Atlantic City, shot Taquay Dunston on the 500 block of Absecon Boulevard on June 27. Dunston was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus with non-life threatening injuries to his lower body.

Police had been actively searching for Martinez, who was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon by a convicted person, and conspiracy.
