MILLVILLE — A man was fatally shot in the city early Saturday morning, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said Monday.

Police were sent to a shots-fired call at 1:13 a.m. near Railroad Avenue between South Fourth and Fifth streets.

When officers arrived, an unidentified man was found along the north edge of Railroad Avenue. He was later identified as Abil Hasan, 29, of Penns Grove, Salem County. Hasan was later pronounced dead as a result of gunshot wounds, Webb-McRae said in a release.

The investigation is ongoing and the shooter has not been identified, according to Millville police. The investigation is being conducted by the prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit and the Millville Police Department.
