Transatlantic rower Victor Mooney arrived at  Golden Nugget in Atlantic City’s Marina District on Thursday, near the end of a 5,000-mile row across the Atlantic Ocean in his 24-foot rowboat, the Spirit of Malabo. After setting sail in February 2014 off the coast of Africa, Mooney is 120 miles away from his final destination of New York City. The ambitious journey is Mooney’s way of raising awareness of and advocating prevention for HIV and AIDS in honor of his two brothers, one of whom lives with the virus and the other of whom died in 1983. Mooney is making his fourth attempt at this  feat.
