SANDY HOOK - The contest for bragging rights among Jersey shore beaches is expanding this year.

The state's Top Ten Beaches contest will name winners for each of the state's four coastal counties: Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May.

The contest will also add a photo competition in which the public can submit pictures of their favorite New Jersey beaches, emphasizing the area's natural elements.

Votes can be submitted through the Web site, , starting Wednesday at noon. Voting runs through April 30.

Photos must be submitted by March 25, and voting for the photos runs from April 2 through April 30.

The contest is run by the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, an affiliation of colleges, universities and groups dedicated to advancing knowledge and stewardship of New Jersey's marine and coastal environment.
