ATLANTIC CITY — The New York Avenue School was temporarily put on lockdown this afternoon following the report of a shot fired.

The city’s ShotSpotter audio-detection system alerted police to a shot fired in the 600 block of North Kentucky Avenue shortly after 4 p.m., Capt. Charles Love said.

Officer Brian Fleming responded to the area, and New York Avenue School was put on lockdown.

No victims or witnesses were found.

Officer Tim Rose found a spent shell casing at Kentucky and Caspian avenues, Love said.

The round was collected by the city’s Forensics Unit.

The lockdown was then lifted.

Anyone withe information is asked to call police at 609-347-5766 or Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234. Information may also be texted anonymously to tip411 (84711) beginning the text with ACPD.
