PLEASANTVILLE — Shots were fired early Monday afternoon in the 800 block of Cedar Lane, police Capt. Matthew Hartman said.

The Pleasantville patrol and criminal investigations bureaus arrived at 12:06 p.m. and found evidence that a firearm had been discharged multiple times in the area, and that two homes had been struck by projectiles, Hartman said.

No injuries were reported to law enforcement at the time, Hartman said. The department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating, Hartman said.

This is the second shooting incident in three days in Pleasantville.

Josue Demosthenes, 29, of Pleasantville, was killed and two others were wounded in a shooting Saturday night in the 600 block of Tilton Road, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Pleasantville Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit at 609-641-6100.
