ATLANTIC CITY — Police on Monday arrested a city man suspected of several convenience store burglaries.

At 9:34 p.m., Officer Eric Evans located 24-year-old Jesus Cotto in the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue. Cotto matched the description of a burglary suspect in surveillance photos and video from the stores, police said.

Between Sept. 23 and Oct. 2, convenience stores reported burglaries in the 1600 block of Atlantic Avenue, the 500 block of Indiana Avenue and the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue.

Police said Cotto initially gave Evans a fake name but was identified through fingerprinting. Cotto was also wanted on two active arrest warrants. He was charged with four counts of burglary and theft, hindering apprehension and contempt of court.

Cotto was remanded to the Atlantic County jail pending a court appearance.
