BRIGANTINE — A Delaware man was arrested last week after police searched his rental property and found a large quantity of cocaine.
On Nov. 2, detectives from the Brigantine police Street Crimes Unit searched a home and vehicle in the 1100 block of East Shore Drive following an extensive drug investigation.
Officers found 25.8 grams of cocaine and $3,094 in cash, police said.
Robert D. Wells, 62, of Newark, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wells was taken to the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing.
Brigantine police were assisted by the Atlantic County SWAT team, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit, the National Guard Counterdrug Task Force and officers from the Pleasantville, Somers Point, Linwood and Egg Harbor Township police departments.
