Rio Grande Wawa

WILDWOOD — A Villas woman was arrested Thursday on DWI and drug charges after police found her passed out in a car outside a Wawa.

Officers responded about 1:30 p.m. to the Wawa at 410 W. Rio Grande Ave. for a report of someone unconscious and unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a parked car, police said in a statement.

Officers and Wildwood Rescue responders awakened the woman, identified as Susan L. Kelly, 55, and treated her at the scene, police said.

She was searched at the Police Department, where officers seized more than six bundles of heroin with an approximate street value of $770, drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe, police said.

Kelly was charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of controlled dangerous substances in a motor vehicle, as well as possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe, police said.

She was released on a summons.
