HAMILTON TOWNSHIP — A driver was ticketed Friday evening after causing a five-car crash at a stop light on the Black Horse Pike.

Jose A. Castillo-Chacon, 62, of Ventnor, failed to stop at the light at 6:12 p.m. near the Hamilton Mall, hitting the car in front of him with his 1994 Ford pickup and causing a chain reaction that damaged three other vehicles, police said.

Castillo-Chacon suffered minor chest pain, an adult in another vehicle suffered minor back pain, and a mother and a 5-year-old suffered minor injuries, police said. All were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, in Galloway Township.

Police issued Castillo-Chacon a summons for careless driving. The flow of traffic was unaffected, police said.
