EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — Flat Stone Tavern & Grill on the Black Horse Pike will close at the end of business on Saturday, co-owner Brian O’Keeney said.

“We will be possibly reopening in the fall under a new name,” O’Keeney said.

Emails will be sent out to the loyal customers to let them know the restaurant has closed, O’Keeney said. The announcement was on the restaurant’s Facebook page Wednesday, but has been removed.

The Flat Stone Tavern & Grill opened in 2015 after O’Keeney operated the Berkshire Grill at the location for 14 years.

The Flat Stone was a partnership between O’Keeney and Rahul Bhagat, one of Berkshire’s regular customers. Andrew Reigel was the executive chief, who was there at the beginning when the Flat Stone opened.

Mayor James “Sonny” McCullough said a great deal of money was spent in the conversion of Berkshire Grill to the Flat Stone Tavern.

“I’m disappointed that it is closing,” McCullough said.
