A former Ocean City councilman and longtime library trustee has declared his candidacy for the May 8 municipal election in Ocean City.

On Monday, there was an official filing of signed petitions in support of John Flood for mayor, according to a news release from Flood.

Flood, who says he has spent recent months talking to residents and listening to concerns for Ocean City, has created the website JohnFloodforMayor.com and will add more ideas and information over the next few weeks, according to the press release.
