Free dental services such as X-rays, exams, cleanings, fillings, root canals and extractions will be offered for veterans who do not qualify for dental care through the Department of Veterans Affairs on Nov. 3, according to a news release.
For the seventh year, hundreds of volunteer dentists, assistants and hygienists will treat veterans for one day during “Veterans Smile Day." The following offices are participating in the event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday:
- Brickworks Dental in Mays Landing, 609-625-0505
- Marmora Family Dental in Upper Township, 609-390-0111
The Cape May – Lewes Ferry will also offer free passenger round trip, same day travel for veterans and active military personnel with a valid ID on Nov. 11, according to a news release.
This is the second year the service is offering free fare in honor of Veterans Day. Military personnel and veterans will also receive a free cup of coffee or a fountain soda, and 11 percent off any food or retail purchases in either terminal or aboard a ferry vessel.
All active or retired military personnel who use the service during November will also receive an emailed discount voucher before the end of the year, worth $11 off any future travel aboard the Ferry through May 31, 2019. Call 800-643-3779 for reservations and more information.
Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar will offer a free full-size entrée from an exclusive, eight-item menu on Nov. 11 to veterans who show proof of service, according to a news release.
Participating Applebee's locations in New Jersey are those owned by Apple American Group in Atlantic City, Hammonton, Mays Landing, Somers Point, Vineland, Turnersville, Voorhees, Westampton, Audubon, Cherry Hill, Deptford, Mt. Laurel, Pennsville, Sicklerville, Swedesboro and Williamstown.
