GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A Galloway man was arrested on weapon and drug charges Thursday after police recovered a handgun during a traffic stop, authorities said. 

Isiah X. Tolbert, 20, of Galloway, and Russell E. Clark IV, 30, of Galloway, were in a vehicle that was stopped at 1:20 a.m. Thursday by K-9 Officer Brent Lopez on Great Creek Road in Mattix Run, police said in a news release.

Police found Tolbert in possession of a handgun, which was loaded with hollow point ammunition, the release said. After a search of the vehicle, authorities also found a small amount of marijuana, the release said. 

Tolbert was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point bullets and possession of marijuana under 50 grams and was was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Clark was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, as well as motor vehicle violations, and was released on a summons, the release said.
