GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A township woman was injured Friday when the sport utility vehicle she was driving crashed into a utility pole and tree at Route 9 and Leeds Point Road, police said.
Cynthia M. Verderber, 42, was driving a 2011 Dodge Durango south on Route 9 at 2:50 p.m. when it left the road and struck a utility pole, police said. It continued into the woods, coming to rest after striking a tree, police said.
Verderber, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
The Galloway Township Ambulance Squad, AtlantiCare paramedics and Oceanville Fire Company also responded.
Route 9 was closed between Leeds Point and Smithville roads for about an hour, police said. Motor vehicle charges are pending further investigation.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Officer Kevin Costa at 609-652-3705, ext. 5086.
