CLAYTON — Two Hammonton men and a wanted California man were charged Tuesday with having one pound of methamphetamine.
During a joint investigation with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Clayton Police Department, authorities found Benigno Ramirez, 37, his cousin Salathiel Ramirez, 38, and Eugene Griffin, 37, of San Diego, in the area of Academy Street and Atlantic Avenue, Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Bernie Weisenfeld said Thursday.
Each of the three was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of CDS with intent to distribute, Weisenfeld said.
Griffin also was charged as a fugitive from justice.
He had an active warrant from San Diego on a counterfeiting charge, Weisenfeld said.
The three men were turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department.
They are held without bail pending detention hearings.
Griffin also will receive an extradition hearing.
