ATLANTIC CITY — Jon Henderson has been announced as the recipient of the 2018 Spirit of Hospitality Award by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Henderson, founder of Good Time Tricycle Productions and organizer of both the Atlantic City Tattoo Expo and AC Beer and Music Festival, will be recognized during the Atlantic City Host Awards on May 2 in the Adrian Phillips Theater at Boardwalk Hall.

According to the CRDA, the Spirit of Hospitality Award is bestowed each year upon an “outstanding individual” who has made a long-lasting and significant contribution to the Atlantic City region’s hospitality and tourism industry. The award “embodies the recipient’s spirit and dedication to serving the millions of visitors who come to Atlantic City.”

Henderson, a city resident for 20 years, started out at Resorts Casino Hotel as a casino marketing representative and worked in all facets of the gaming, hospitality and event-planning industry.

Since starting his own production company, Henderson has been involved in numerous entertainment and tourism-centered projects in the city.

“Jon Henderson and the Good Time Tricycle team are responsible for moving over 125,000 visitors through Atlantic City annually, creating an estimated $18 million in economic impact for the region, as well as hosting lifestyle events that keep Atlantic City a relevant entertainment destination,” a statement from the CRDA read.

Past recipients of the Spirit of Hospitality Award include Jean Muchanic, executive director of the Absecon Lighthouse (2015) and Superior Court Judge Nelson Johnson, who authored the book, “Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City” (2011).
