After a five day, 24-hour broadcast marathon taking place in an Egg Harbor Township parking lot, the radio stations of Longport Media announced the final totals of food collected and money donated from this year's "Operation Help".

The annual fundraiser collected more than 15,000 lbs of non-perishable food items for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey's Southern Branch, along with nearly $13,000 in monetary donations.

DJs and show hosts from radio stations 103.7 WMGM and 1400-AM WOND propelled the incoming donations by broadcasting live from the parking lot at Chickie's and Pete's in the English Creek Shopping Center.

Over the past 10 years, the food drive, which occurs the week before Thanksgiving has helped raised $50,000 in monetary donations as well as more than 34 tons of food.
