ATLANTIC CITY — A city man was arrested Sunday night and charged with robbing a convenience store using a knife, police said.

At 10:07 p.m., Officer George Mancuso responded to a report of a robbery at the Food 4 Less store in the 1700 block of Atlantic Avenue. Police said a man carrying a knife entered the store, approached the clerk and took several hundred dollars from the cash register.

A description of the suspect was given to police. Officer Robert Reynolds saw the suspect on a bicycle at South Carolina and Adriatic avenues. Police said the weapon was found on the bicycle.

The suspect, Sam Jones, who police said is also known as Rameek Williamson, 52, was charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal restraint and hindering apprehension. He also had marijuana and narcotics paraphernalia and was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia, police said.
