Marshall Spevak, chief of staff for Atlantic County Assemblymen Vince Mazzeo and John Armato, announced on Thursday that he has accepted a job as the Deputy Executive Director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
Spevak, of Cherry Hill, told The Press of Atlantic City that he was ready to take on a new challenge after working with the state legislature for over four years.
"I have a passion for Atlantic City and have been involved with a lot there over the past few years," Spevak said. "It's a really exciting time for the city, and I'm looking forward to working there and helping with its revival."
Spevak will officially join the CRDA on May 7 with new executive director Matt Doherty, who is currently the mayor of Belmar.
A spokesperson for the CRDA did not return a request for comment.
Spevak, who is also the president of New Jersey Young Democrats and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Battleship New Jersey, said he will work to find a new chief of staff for Armato and Mazzeo before he leaves.
