MAYS LANDING — A Newark man was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison for the 2015 sexual assault of a Galloway Township woman, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Judge Bernard DeLury ordered Patric D. Reed-Price, 28, to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence before being eligible for parole. Reed-Price will be subject to lifetime parole supervision and Megan’s Law registration, according to a news release from Prosecutor Damon Tyner.
Reed-Price broke in to the woman’s home July 10, 2015. He waited and attacked her when she returned home, threatening her with a knife and sexually assaulting her, prosecutors have said.
Police were called and heard the woman screaming inside.
A Superior Court grand jury indicted Reed-Price Aug. 25, 2015, and added a witness-tampering charge June 9. He was convicted Oct. 13 after a three-day trial on six counts, including aggravated sexual assault while armed, terroristic threats and witness tampering.
