A pedestrian was struck and injured Saturday night on the Black Horse Pike in Folsom, police said.

The accident was reported 12:38 a.m., after an SUV traveling west on Route 322, driven by Marilyn Mendez, 45, of Turnersville, struck a pedestrian who was in the travel lanes near the Route 54 intersection, State Police said.

Benjamin Star, 36, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, was taken to a hospital by ambulance with serious, life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police did not have information Sunday on which hospital Star was taken to.

Police said one lane was closed for about three hours for the investigation.
