ATLANTIC CITY — A Pleasantville woman has been charged with murder for fatally stabbing an Atlantic City woman Wednesday morning, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said in a statement.
Authorities said Rollie Ellis, 28, stabbed Jennifer and Raphy Rodriguez, both 34, at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday following a dispute in their apartment at 3 S. Iowa Ave.
It is not clear why Ellis was in the Rodriguezes’ apartment.
Jennifer Rodriguez escaped the apartment complex and ran to the Police Department, which is across the street.
She was found in the lobby unconscious with a stab wound to the back of her head and neck area, Tyner said.
She was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where she was pronounced dead.
Raphy Rodriguez also escaped the apartment and flagged down a police officer. He was taken to the hospital with several stab wounds but is expected to survive, Tyner said.
Ellis was charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, Tyner said. Details about her arrest were not available.
She is in the Atlantic County jail pending a detention hearing.
