A Cape May-based Saluki won best in breed on Monday at the Westminster Dog Show at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Haney, a 20-month-old female whose official name is SBIS Ch. Aziz Reatha Allihan, is owned by Cape May residents Jennifer Rimerman and Harry Tillotson. Michael Reed, a professional dog handler from Hopewell (Mercer County), guided her during the competition.

It defeated 13 other Saluki's to win the division and advanced to the Hound competition, but did not place in the top four.

GCHP DC Walmaer-Solo's OMG SL JE, a long-haired Dachshund, won the Hound group. A Whippet (GCHB CH Pinnacle Kentucky Bourbon), a Beagle (GCHP CH Gwencalon's Tam O'Shanter) and a Basenji (CH Dark Moon's Black Tri Affair) took second, third and fourth, respectively.
