Runners are asked to bring their capes as the eighth annual Seashore Gardens 5K Run and Health Walk returns to Atlantic City in April.

The run will start and end on the Boardwalk at Tropicana Casino and Resort on April 29. Proceeds from the fundraising events will benefit the Alzheimer’s Outreach Services at Seashore Gardens Living Center in Galloway Township.

Participants are encouraged to run or walk in superhero costumes. Prizes will be awarded for the best individual costume, best family or group costume and best children’s costume.

Cash prizes also will be awarded to the best male and female runners. First place winners will receive $150, second place wins $100 and third place wins $50. Medals will also be given out to the top three male and female runners in their age group.

The race begins at 9 a.m. Pre-registration is available until 5 p.m. April 27. The cost is $30 per person and includes a T-shirt. Same day registration is available until 7:15 a.m. for $40 but does not include a T-shirt.
