WINSLOW TOWNSHIP — A motorist died Saturday after police say she got out of her vehicle on the Atlantic City Expressway was struck by a box truck.

Sgt. Larry Peele said Gulcin Dal, 57, of Sicklerville, parked her SUV on the right shoulder of the eastbound lanes near mile marker 30.4 about 8 a.m.

Dal exited her vehicle, and when she stepped off the shoulder, she was struck by the truck, Peele said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

State Police, the police Fatal Accident Crime Scene Unit, EMTs and paramedics responded to the scene, Peele said, and the two right lanes were closed for about 2 1/2 hours. The investigation is continuing, he said.
