VENTNOR — Traffic is being diverted for the second day due to a water main break on Wellington Avenue.

Mayor Mike Bagnell said the break on the city-owned main in Ventnor Heights was fixed Wednesday, and now city crews are repairing the area of the street between Surrey and Victoria avenues.

“They’re going to be working on replacing the street. That should take most of today,” Bagnell said Thursday morning.

A notcie from the county states that traffic will be detoured between Suffolk and Dorset avenues until 4 p.m.

He said the break was likely due to the age of the pipes.

“I’m going to guess it’s an old main,” he said.
