VENTNOR — Police are investigating an armed robbery Sunday night at Nashville Market, authorities said.

About 5:50 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call about an armed robbery at the market in the 5100 block of Ventnor Avenue, Lt. Joseph Fussner said in a news release.

A man allegedly entered the store with what appeared to be a handgun, demanded money from the register and ran out with an undisclosed amount of cash, Fussner said.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and wearing dark clothing and a ski mask over his face. He was seen with a weapon at the time of the incident, police said.

The store clerk was not injured.

Officers from Ventnor, Margate and Somers Point searched the area but did not find the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call Ventnor police at 609-822-2101.
