Car fire

A car caught fire going north on the Garden State Parkway near Galloway Township on Friday afternoon.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — A Scion xB caught fire Friday afternoon near milepost 40 going north on the Garden State Parkway, State Police said. 

A call about the fire came in at 2:14 p.m., State Police Staff Sgt. Alan Lewis said. The car was towed from the scene before 3 p.m.

The fire started under the hood. One man was in the car at the time, Lewis said, and no injuries were reported. 

State Police and Galloway Township firefighters responded.
