Dando, Dora M., - 92, of Galloway, formally of Minersville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 30, after a brief illness. Born in Pottsville, on April 6, 1926, Dora was the daughter of the late Isadore and Blanche (D'Allago) Leonard. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Absecon, NJ. and of the former St. Barbara's Church, Minersville. She attended Minersville and Vineland, NJ elementary schools. Dora attended Minersville Junior High and High Schools, graduating in 1944. Following graduation, she graduated beauty school and taught beauty culture, before opening her own beauty parlor on Sunbury Street. She married David J. (Jim) Dando in1950, living in Minersville and West West Terrace. Dora worked for Ben Yeager Furs, subsequently managing Feel Fine Coach Light Shops, and the Kerwick Card & Gift Shop, before working for Pomeroy's, afterwards Bon Ton, in Pottsville and at the Schuylkill Mall. Dora and Jim moved to Galloway, NJ, in 1986 to join their son. Dora found great enjoyment in sewing, cooking, baking cookies and making candy, with holidays being a time to showcase her talents in these areas. She was a lover of animals and most especially her cats. Dora was preceded in death by her parents Isadore and Blanche Leonard, and, by her husband David J. Dando Sr. She is survived by her son, David J. Dando, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, Minersville with Reverend Leo Maletz officiating.. All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation Monday 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. As well as Tuesday morning from 7:00 to 9:15 am at the funeral home.
