Gleason, Cristen "Cris", - 72, of Brigantine, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. A native of Audubon, NJ and long-time Brigantine, NJ resident, Cris graduated from the University of Georgia and spent his career pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. Cris was an avid pilot with accomplishments ranging from flying across the Atlantic in a single-engine plane to more recently being a "Mooney Caravaner" in 2017's World's Greatest Aviation Celebration in Oshkosh, WI. Cris served as Division Commander for the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary's 8th Division, which allowed him to combine his love of boating and desire to give back to the community. Cris was known for his devotion to his family, sharing his passions with others, and his ability to always see the positive side of things. Cris will forever be remembered by his children, Dana Nightingale and Timothy Gleason, their spouses Ben Nightingale and Morgan Maygarden Gleason, his four grandchildren, Emma Gleason, Adelaide Gleason, Elinor Nightingale, and Theodore Nightingale, his brother Van Gleason, nephew Kristopher Gleason and his wife Lauran Gleason, close friends and family including Renate Deconna, Jim Foy, Joe Grimm, Tom Grimm, Paula Heigis, Bill and Paige Ritter, Suzanne Tochterman and countless others who gave him love and support throughout his life. Cris is predeceased by his parents Alice "Dolly" Gleason and William Gleason and his close friend Fred Tochterman. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a ceremony followed by Mass of Christian Burial to honor Cris on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 331 8th Street South Brigantine.
