Johnson, Barbara Jean, - of Atlantic City, went home to the Lord March 15, 2018. She was born in North Carolina to George & Idabelle Johnson. Barbara earned a Bachelor Degree from Winston-Salem State University in 1957. In 1960, she was hired as a teacher for Atlantic City School District. Her teaching career spanned forty years, until she retired in 2000. During that period, she only taught at one school; her beloved "Indiana Avenue School". She leaves a legacy that affectively impacted the lives of her many students who passed through her classroom doors. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: siblings; Gladys Lawrence, Mildred Dequincy Corpening (Fred), George Johnson, Jr. (Estelle), Forney Johnson (Cheryl); special sisters, Judy Moss, Anita England, Dorothy Robinson, Wanda Williams, Altheria Rowe, Kimberly "Pee Wee" Ferguson; godchildren, Shay Steel, Cassandra Johnson, Keith Watts and Mario Laing; devoted cousin, Alice Sherrill; and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to give a warm and heartfelt thanks to family, friends, and Greenidge Funeral Homes, Inc. Memorial services will be 1PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018, Faith Baptist Church, 829 Tilton Road, Pleasantville, where friends may call from 12:30PM.
