LOUGHNEY, STEVEN F. Jr - 28 of Atlantic City passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, January 3, 2016. "Legends never die, and legends are never forgotten" Stevie was born and raised in the Chelsea Heights section of Atlantic City. After spending some years in Brooklyn, NY, he later returned to the city he loved; his passion for summers on the beach, skateboarding on the boardwalk and surfing brought him home. Like his father, Steve loved animals and took great pride in caring for his cats Cheeba and BreadStick. He had an infectious smile and was always fun to be around, whether playing ice hockey or just spending time with friends. Steve will be remembered both as a devoted son and as a kind and loving person who was never afraid to stand up for himself or others. Steven was predeceased by his father Steven F. Loughney, Sr., his grandfathers Charles Loughney and Richard Hurley, his Uncle Chuckie and Aunt Thelma. He is survived by his Mother Rachelle Hurley, Brother Justin Daniels, Sister-in-law Penelope and Niece Skylar; Grandmothers Antionette Hurley and Thelma Damico Loughney, Uncles Michael 'Rocky' and John Loughney, Albert, Richard, Ross and Jeff Hurley, Aunt Christine Young, many Cousins including Ryan Loughney whom Steve considered a brother, Girlfriend Emmalene, Godmother Pattie Logue, and a lifetimes worth of friends who will miss him deeply. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for Steven F. Loughney, Jr., 11:00am Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Monica Parish- Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 2651 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City. Those wishing to celebrate Steve's life are invited to join his family for his viewing beginning at 10:00am in the church and Mass.
