MOGAN, MARIE THERESA , - 73, of Brigantine, New Jersey, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on March 14, 2017. Born on January 20, 1944, Marie attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Grammar School in Atlantic City. While in High School, Marie worked at the Colton Manor and Jefferson Hotels. Following graduation from Holy Spirit High School in 1961, she worked for the Atlantic City Electric Company. One of the happiest days of her life was when she married her high school sweetheart, Jim, on August 28, 1965. Jim and Marie lived in Philadelphia for one year and then moved to Brigantine in 1966. When Harrah's Casino opened in 1980, Marie was hired as a Pit Clerk Supervisor, a position she held for fifteen years. When Marie retired in 1995, she and Jim took every opportunity to travel the world together. Every place they visited was a new adventure and Marie loved every minute of the trips. Marie's greatest passion was her family. Nothing brought her more joy than being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Her idea of celebrating their 50th wedding Anniversary was to spend five days on an all-inclusive trip with her children and grandchildren, to Jamaica, in June 2015. Marie and Jim not only attended the grandchildren's soccer and basketball games, but they were known to travel to their great nieces and nephews games as well. To the extended family, they were known as Aunt Gammy and Uncle Pop-Pop. Marie was our biggest cheerleader and motivator, and she was the brightest light in every room she entered. Marie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, James F. "Jim" Mogan; her children James Mogan (Jodi) of Medford, NJ, Thomas Mogan (Meghan) of Chestnut Hill, MA., and Kimberly Mogan of Brigantine, NJ; her sister Patricia Stites; her five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Thomas, James (JT), Patrick and Brendan; her sister-in-law Geraldine McGinty (James); nieces and nephews, Greg Stites (Denise), Jennifer Turon (Michael), James McGinty (Sandy), Elizabeth Baker (Mark); and cousins Carol Kirchner (Brian), Barbara Hand (Carol), and James Brown.
