Rann, Louis Arthur, Colonel, USMC (Ret.), - 95, of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, passed away on July 17, 2018. Louis was born on June 23, 1923 in Cologne, NJ. He attended Egg Harbor High School, College of New Jersey, Rutgers University where he earned his Masters. While in the service, he attended Princeton University. Louis served during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War earning awards that include the Purple Heart, Legion of Merit with V, Bronze Star with V, Peruvian Navy Cross and the Meritorious Service Medal. He was a member of the 3rd Marine Division Association, Khe Sanh Marines, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines The Magnificent Bastards Association and Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason. In between World War II and the Korean War, he taught at Atlantic City Vocational School and coached the basketball game. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne the former Joanne Lewis of St. Paul Minnesota; his parents Esther and Arthur Rann; and brother, George C. Rann. Louis is survived by his children, COL. Stephen L. Rann, USA (Ret.) (Dytre), Col. David P. Rann USMC, (Ret.) (Elizabeth) and Zoe Rann; and his siblings, Patricia Stutzbach, Phyllis Messinger, and Robert Rann. He leaves numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at the Satellite Beach United Methodist Church on August 11th. Interment was held at Quantico National Cemetery on September 14, 2018.
