Roman, Anthony George, - of Egg Harbor Township, passed away on Friday, May 10th, 2019, Anthony Roman, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at age 92. Tony was born to Joseph Roman and Jennifer Roman in Cherry City, a suburb of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on September 23rd, 1926. Tony served with distinction in the United States Navy during the Second World War. He enlisted on his 18th birthday in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. Upon returning home Tony moved to Northeast Philadelphia and later Levittown, Pennsylvania where he began a fulfilling career with the United States Postal Service which lasted 32 years. He married the love of his life, Rose Marie Harry, in 1961. Their unconditional love was, and continues to be an inspiration to all who knew them. Tony and Rose Marie raised two beautiful children, Maria and Joseph, who carry on his legacy of kindness and generosity. Tony's greatest joy after retiring to New Jersey with Rose Marie was attending daily mass with their loving community at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel. His faith and devotion to God brought strength and guidance throughout his life. Tony's passion for music was a constant source of joy. He happily recounted memories of seeing big band leaders and crooners in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and beyond. Tony was a gentle soul, and will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and generosity towards everyone he met. He was a wonderful storyteller, a tremendous friend, and an impeccable role model throughout his life. Tony is survived by his wife Rose Marie, his two children, Joseph Roman, Maria Wallace (Roman) and her husband Joseph Wallace Jr, as well as his grandson Joseph Wallace III. A Gathering with the family will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 10am til 11am at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am.
