TOY, JOHN LAWRENCE JR. (Larry) - (76) died Monday, October 12, 2015 in Marietta, GA. Larry was born in Atlantic City, NJ to the late John Lawrence and Catherine Toy (Areseneault) on November 28, 1938 and spent most of his life on the island. Larry, who also lived in Lantana Florida upon his retirement, died after a long and dignified resistance against Alzheimer's disease and a brief illness. He held many professional and civic positions including Commissioner for the Atlantic City Race Track, Atlantic County Agent for the Division of Motor Vehicles, 25 years as a civil servant to the city of Atlantic City, retiring as Chief of the Parking Division, member of the Civil Air Patrol, Atlantic City's Rent Control board member and Chairman of the Democratic Party Election Board. His love of politics was surpassed only by his passion for fishing and scuba diving. A funeral mass will be held at Star of the Sea Catholic Church Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10:00 am. Friends may express their condolences at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 am. A celebration of Larry's life will be held immediately following the mass, Moose Lodge 3900 West End Avenue, A.C.
