GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Major party candidates vying to fill New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District seat will face off Wednesday at Stockton University.



Republican Seth Grossman, a former Atlantic City councilman and Atlantic County freeholder, and Democratic state Sen. Jeff Van Drew are running for election in November to fill the House seat being vacated by Rep. Frank LoBiondo, R-2nd.

LoBiondo has held the seat for more than 20 years, after Democratic Rep. William J. Hughes retired in 1994.

The debate will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Stockton’s Campus Center Theatre.

It is open to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The event is being broadcast live and participants must be seated by 5:45 p.m.

The debate is sponsored by the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy of Stockton University and is co-sponsored by SNJ Today and The Press of Atlantic City.
