Millville welterweight Thomas LaManna ended his brief retirement with a victory Saturday night.

The 26-year-old earned a 10-round, unanimous decision over Ghana native Samuel Amoako at the Claridge Hotel.

All three judges scored the bout 100-90 for LaManna (25-2, 9 KOs), who returned after announcing his retirement from boxing three months ago.

According to ringside observer Marc Abrams, LaManna was the aggressor for most of the fight, relying on a strong jab and body shots to keep Amoako (23-17, 17 KOs) on the defensive.

In Saturday’s co-feature, New Brunswick super-bantamweight Jorge Diaz (19-5-1, 3 KOs) overcame an early knockdown to post an eight-round, unanimous decision over Adam Lopez (16-2-2, 8 KOs), of San Antonio.

On the undercard, Pleasantvile lightweight Sidell Blocker (1-10-1, 0 KOs) lost a six-round, unanimous decision to Tomas Romain (5-1, 0 KOs), of Brooklyn, New York. Brooklyn welterweight Yurik Mamedov (8-0, 3 KOs) remained unbeaten with a six-round, unanimous decision over Vincent Floyd (3-4-1, 2 KOs), of Philadelphia. La Place, Louisiana, cruiserweight Alvin Varmall (14-0-1, 12 KOs) needed just 97 seconds to knock out Nicholas Lavin (5-7, 4 KOs), of Shelton, Connecticut. Brooklyn cruiserweight Frederick Julan (7-0, 5 KOs) stopped Takoma Park, Maryland, veteran Willis Lockett (15-22-6, 5 KOs) via fifth-round TKO. Brentwood, New York, welterweight Jonathan Arroyo (1-0, 0 KOs) won his professional debut with a four-round, unanimous decision over Orange’s Steve Moore (0-2).

Notes: Deptford Township bantamweight Christian Carto (12-0, 11 KOs), a 2015 St. Augustine Prep graduate, returns to action Dec. 1 at Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia. Carto, whose picture is on a billboard at the Walt Whitman Bridge promoting the fight, will fight Mexican Luis Fernando Saavedra (7-3, 3 KOs).

Two local fighters will be in action Dec. 9 at the Small Arena PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Atlantic City super-middleweight Antowyan Aikens (11-3-1, 1 KO) will face Philadelphia’s Jamaal Davis (15-12-1, 7 KOs) in the main event. Atlantic City bantamweight Dallas Holden (1-1, 0 KOs) will face ring rookie Luis Morales (0-0), of Harrisburg.

Pleasantville welterweight Anthony Young (18-2, 6 KOs) and Atlantic City super-middleweight Gabriel Pham (9-1, 4 KOs) are scheduled to appear on a card at the Claridge on Dec. 19.
