Former Hammonton, Egg Harbor Township and Absegami high school standouts have been contributing to the success of the nationally ranked Rowan baseball team.

In the Profs’ 10-5 loss to Arcadia on March 6, Steven Hewa (Absegami), a junior catcher, went 2 for 3 with a double, a run and two RBIs. Monny Strickland (EHT), a senior outfielder/first baseman and co-captain, singled and scored a run.

Strickland went 2 for 4 with a run and RBI in a 10-8 win Friday over Salve Regina. The game was the opener in the Profs’ eight-game Florida trip.

In a 10-4 win over No. 1 nationally ranked UMass Boston on Sunday, Strickland went 3 for 5 with a double, a run and three RBIs. Justin Smith (Hammonton), a junior, pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win. He allowed no hits and one walk and struck out five.

On Monday, the Profs defeated Mount St. Joseph 11-4. Strickland went 1 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Hewa went doubled and knocked in one run.

The Profs (7-1) are ranked 11th in the country in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll.

In Fairfield’s 16-12 win over North Florida on Saturday, Anthony Boselli (Holy Spirit) doubled, drove in a run and scored twice, and Josh Arnold (Ocean City) pitched one scoreless inning of relief, allowing one hit.

Seamus Brazill (Barnegat) pitched three perfect innings of relief, striking out two, to earn the save in Hofstra’s 11-0 win over Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday. In a 9-6 win over Maryland-Baltimore County on Saturday, Zach Altieri (Ocean City) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks with three strikeouts, earning the decision and improving to 2-0.

Matt Colon (Buena Regional) pitched a scoreless inning of relief, walking one and striking out one, in James Madison’s 9-5 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.

Johnny Malatesta (Vineland) pitched one scoreless inning of relief in New Jersey Institute of Technology’s 8-4 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. In a 5-2 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday, Jared Kacso (Barnegat) got the win, pitching six shutout innings, allowing a hit and two walks with four strikeouts. Malatesta pitched a two-inning save, allowing one hit and a walk with two strikeouts.

Nick Caregnato (Buena) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits, in North Carolina Central’s 14-7 win over Presbyterian on March 7. He gave up on walk and struck out four.

Brendan Bean (Gloucester Catholic; North Wildwood resident) went 2 for 3 with an RBI in Penn’s 4-1 loss to Furman on March 7. He went 3 for 5 with a run and an RBI in a 7-5 win over USC Upstate on Saturday.

Robert Boselli III (Holy Spirit) doubled and drove in a run for St. John’s in a 6-1 loss to Kansas on Saturday.

In Bloomfield’s 7-6 loss to Stonehill on March 6, Harry Montero (Millville) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and Anthony Elefante (Lacey Township) doubled and scored. In a 10-8 win over Stonehill last Thursday, Montero went 5 for 5 with a double, two home runs, two runs and three RBIs. Elefante pitched four innings, allowing three runs and striking out six.

Andrew Holmes (EHT) went 2 for 3 with a double, a run and an RBI in Bloomsburg’s 13-4 win over West Virginia State on Saturday.

In Chestnut Hill’s 10-4 win over Stonehill on March 5, Alec Craig (St. Joseph) went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Matthew Owens (Barnegat) scored twice and walked four times. In a 10-4 loss to Barry on March 6, Craig went 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs and an RBI. Owens hit a solo homer.

In Chestnut Hill’s 13-4 win over Florida International in the first of a doubleheader last Thursday, Owens went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Craig singled, scored and drove in a run. In the second game, a 5-4 win, Craig singled and scored on Owens’ two-run homer. Craig hit a two-run triple in an 11-2 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday. Craig went 3 for 3 with two runs, four walks, a double and two runs in a 5-4 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic in 12 innings Saturday.

L.T. Struble (Hammonton) went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs and an RBI in Felician’s 11-5 loss to Stonehill on March 7. He went 2 for 7 with a triple and three runs in an 8-7 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic last Thursday. He went 3 for 5 with a double, a run and two RBIs in a 10-7 loss Friday to Barry. He went 2 for 4 with a run scored in a 13-4 loss to Molloy on Saturday.

Roberto Rivera (Millville) went 2 for 6 with three runs, an RBI and two stolen bases in UNC Pembroke’s 15-5 win over Coker on March 6. He went 2 for 3 with a run scored in a 6-1 loss Friday to Columbus State.

Austin Blumetti (Mainland) went 21/3 innings of relief, allowing an unearned run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in the University of the Sciences’ 17-8 loss to Winston-Salem State on March 5.

Nick Grotti (Millville) went 2 for 4 with a double, a run and an RBI in West Virginia Wesleyan’s 6-4 win over Minnesota Duluth on March 5. He doubled, scored twice and drove in a run in an 11-10 loss to Minnesota-Crookston on March 5.

Sean Carew (St. Augustine) singled, scored and drove in two runs in Arcadia’s 10-5 win over Rowan on March 5. He went 3 for 6 with a double, two runs and three RBIs in a 16-12 win over Susquehanna in the first of two games Sunday. In the second game, a 13-3 win over Kean, Carew doubled, scored twice and drove in a run.

Mike Di Ianni (Holy Spirit) pitched a shut out ninth in Gwynedd Mercy’s 17-7 win over Saint Vincent on March 7.

Justin Diefenbach (Barnegat) pitched five innings and got no decision in Kean’s 5-4 loss to Heidelberg on Friday. He allowed three runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out three.

Brandon Riggs (EHT) pitched five innings, allowing a run on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts, to get the decision in Penn State Harrisburg’s 11-1 win over Wilkes on March 7.

Brady Kessler (EHT) singled and scored twice in Stevenson’s 8-7 win over Gettysburg on March 6. He singled, scored and drove in a run in an 11-5 win Sunday over Elmira.

Dom Fiorentino (Ocean City) singled and scored twice in Ursinus’ 7-5 loss to Whittier on March 6. He went 2 for 5 with an RBI in a 24-12 loss to Claremont Mudd Scripps on Friday. Drew Roesch (Absegami) doubled, scored and drove in a run in an 8-6 win over Occidental on Saturday.
