Lycoming College junior Casey Maguire earned her first career Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday.

Maguire, an Egg Harbor Township High School graduate, scored two game-winning goals for Lycoming last week.

On March 16, Maguire scored two goals an assist in an 18-4 win over Gwynedd Mercy. She had three goals and six assists in Lycoming's 21-9 win over King's College on Wednesday.

She finished Wednesday's game with 54 assists, becoming just the fifth women's lacrosse player in school history with at least 50 assists in her career. She leads the Commonwealth Conference with 2.33 assists per game and is second in points (5.17).

In Philadelphia's 15-11 win over Kutztown on Wednesday, Corrine Etter (Millville) had two goals and Lauren Hartman (Our Lady of Mercy) had three goals and an assist. In a 20-11 loss to Long Island on Thursday, Etter had three goals and Hartman had an assist.

In Albright's 12-8 loss to Utica on Saturday, Rebecca Sartorio (Absegami) had a goal.

In Georgian Court's 12-11 loss to Dominican on Tuesday, Melissa Williams (EHT) had seven goals and two assists. In a 16-12 loss to Holy Family on Sunday, Williams had three goals and five assists.

In Neumann's 20-5 win over Cedar Crest on Wednesday, Taylor Klever (Mainland Regional) had two goals and Erin Meehan (Ocean City) had one.

Rylee Gould (Lower Cape May) had a goal in Wesley's 13-6 loss to Misericordia on Wednesday.

Men's lacrosse

In Delaware's 12-5 win over Manhattan on Wednesday, Dean DiSimone (St. Augustine) scored a goal.

Nikko Pontrello (St. Augustine) had four assists in Loyola's 13-12 loss to Georgetown on Wednesday. In a 19-10 win over Lafayette on Saturday, he had five goals and four assists.

Steve Pontrello (St. Augustine) had a goal and assist in North Carolina's 15-10 win over Harvard on Tuesday.

Gabe Voumard (St. Augustine) had a goal and assist in Navy's 7-6 win over Colgate on Saturday.

Mike Sutton (St. Augustine) had two goals and an assist in Penn State's 10-8 loss to Denver on Saturday.

In Wagner's 12-4 win over VMI on Tuesday, Patrick McMenamin (St. Augustine) had two goals and an assist and William McMenamin (St. Augustine) went 6-for-11 in faceoffs. In a 6-5 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, Patrick had a goal and William went 9-for-14 in faceoffs and had four ground balls.

Francisco Barone (Middle Township) had a goal in Chestnut Hill's 18-6 loss to Long Island on Saturday.

Daniel Smith (Oakcrest) scooped up six ground balls in Delaware Valley's 9-7 loss to Hood on Saturday.

Alfonso Manzo (Southern Regional) scored a goal in Gwynedd Mercy's 11-2 win over Delaware Valley on Wednesday. Manzo then scored three goals in a 15-6 win over DeSales on Saturday.

Women's basketball

Shereesha Richards (Atlantic Christian) and Albany nearly upset fourth-seeded Duke in the first round of the women's Division I NCAA tournament on Friday. The junior scored 12 points with five rebounds in a 54-52 loss.

In Buffalo's 84-61 loss to West Virginia in the first round of the women's NIT on Thursday, senior Kristen Sharkey (Southern Regional) had nine points and five rebounds.

Freshman Lauryn Fields (Middle Township) and Savannah State lost in the first round of the Division I NCAA tournament to South Carolina 81-48 on Friday.

Men's basketball

In Rhode Island's 88-75 first-round win over Iona in the National Invitational Tournament on Tuesday, Biggie Minnis (Atlantic Christian) scored 13 points with six rebounds and three assists. In a 74-65 loss to Stanford on Sunday in the second round, the junior had four points.

Men's swimming and diving

John Morris (Cumberland Regional) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Diver of the Week on Monday, the ninth time this season he has won the award. Morris competed in the NCAA Division III National Championships. On Thursday, he earned All-American honorable mention in 1-meter diving by coming in 12th out of 24 divers in the country with 425.70 points. He also came in 20th in the three-meter dive (428.05) on Saturday.

Field hockey

Moravian senior Taylor Holly (Barnegat), along with two teammates, was named to the 2014 Galdiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Scholars of Distinction on Tuesday. The award is given to student-athletes that have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.


Fordham University's Brett Kennedy (Atlantic City) pitched three scoreless innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out four in Fordham's 11-5 win over New York Institute of Technology.

Vinny Zarrillo (Lacey Township) went 2-for-5 with a run in Rutgers' 9-5 loss to Purdue on Friday.

In a 3-0 win on Sunday, St. John's starter Cody Stashak (Oakcrest) went five scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out 10 to improve to 3-3.

In Gannon's 11-8 loss to California (Pennsylvania) on Friday, brothers Aaron and Kyle Cox (Millville) each doubled. In a 4-1 loss in the second game of the doubleheader, Aaron hit a solo home run.

In Arcadia's 12-7 win over Benedict on Tuesday, Justin Chasmer (Barnegat) went 2-for-4 with a run.

Rich Hopkins (Holy Spirit) doubled in Dickinson's 5-4 win over Scranton on Thursday.

Ryan Reitmeyer (Lacey) went 2-for-5 in Kean's 14-6 loss to La Verne on Thursday. Casey Carothers (Lower Cape May Regional) pitched two scoreless innings, striking out two in Kean's 8-0 win over Ithaca on Sunday.

Monny Strickland (Egg Harbor Township) scored three runs in Rowan's 13-1 win over Gallaudet on Wednesday. He went 2-for-5 with two RBIs in a 9-3 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday. Strickland was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week for the third straight week Monday.

In Rutgers-Camden's 13-4 loss to Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Tuesday, Bobby Romano (Vineland) went 2-for-4 with a double, run and RBI. In a 4-0 loss to Trinity on Friday, Romano went 2-for-3 and Billy Jackson (Buena Regional) pitched a complete game, allowing four runs, three earned, on seven hits with four strikeouts.

Anthony Cocuzza (St. Augustine Prep) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in The College of New Jersey's 16-6 loss to Brockport on Tuesday. Cocuzza went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 7-4 win over Washington & Jefferson on Friday.

In Ursinus' 8-1 win over Penn State-Abington on Wednesday, Chris Jablonski (St. Augustine) hit a two-run homer and Vincent Terry (Ocean City) came off the bench and went 2-for-2.

Brett McCully (EHT) pitched two scoreless innings in Wesley's 2-1 loss to Washington on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Robert Boselli (Holy Spirit) fueled Mercy County C.C.'s four-run fifth inning in a 5-2 win over Montgomery when he hit a two-run pinch-hit double to give his team a 3-2 lead.

Keith Salmon (Hammonton) went 5-for-5 with a double, three runs and three RBIs in Penn State Berks' 20-3 win over Valley Forge on March 12.


Rachel Gavigan (Sacred Heart) went 2-for-4 for Mount St. Mary's in a 9-5 loss to Bowling Green on Saturday.

In Albright's 21-0 win over Sarah Lawrence on Tuesday, Brianna Long (Holy Spirit) went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs and Zoe Robertson (EHT) went 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI. In an 8-7 loss to Rutgers-Newark on Thursday, Long had two doubles.

Nicki Larro (Cumberland Regional) went 5-for-6 with a double, three runs and three RBIs in a 29-0 win over Sarah Lawrence on Wednesday. In a 25-0 win over Sarah Lawrence on Thursday, Larro went 3-for-4 with four runs and eight RBIs, which include a grand slam, a two-run homer and an RBI triple. In the second game of a doubleheader Thursday, a 12-0 win over Rutgers-Newark, she went 3-for-3 with five RBIs, including a three-run triple and two-run homer.

In Cabrini's 15-0 win over Cairn on Thursday, Kaitlyn Cooper (Buena) had a hit with two runs and two RBIs and Natalie Giannascoli (Buena) added a hit, run and an RBI. In the second game of the doubleheader, a 10-0 win, Cooper and Giannascoli each had two hits.

In Rowan's 13-0 win over St. Norbert on Tuesday, Alysa Romero (Vineland) went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Romero had a two-run double in a 6-0 win over Centenary on Wednesday. In an 8-0 win over Skidmore on Friday, Romero 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Rowan (18-0) is ranked ninth in the country by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

In Rutgers-Camden's 13-5 win over Eureka on Tuesday, Jalene Garcia (Vineland) went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. In a 24-1 win over York on Friday, Garcia went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, Lindsay Day (Oakcrest) went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, four runs and four RBIs and Brittany Scott (Buena) went 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs.

Casey Derella (Millville) went 2-for-4 with a homer in Ursinus' 8-4 loss to Dickinson on Sunday.
