Bluefish hit pretty much throughout the area over the weekend. Anglers fishing from rocks on the Atlantic City side of Absecon Inlet had plenty plus some striped bass.
Noel Feliciano at One-Stop Bait and Tackle in Atlantic City weighed a 13-pound bluefish and a 24-lb. striper both caught Saturday. Feliciano said there is a bunker run up front off Brigantine and that could be the attraction for the blues. He said to fish for blues and bass from T-Jetty back to Harrah's Marina.
Feliciano said business was phenomenal Saturday and wind slowed the action Sunday. Howard Sefton said he had the best weekend for business he ever had at Captain Howard's Bait and Tackle in Egg Harbor City. Great weather surely got anglers motivated.
Abiel Velez, a 9-year-old from Egg Harbor City, got one of those big blues Sunday. The 9 1/2-pound blue was the biggest fish he ever caught, according to dad Pedro.
