The Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft starts Monday.

The draft consists of 40 rounds spread over three days. The first two rounds will be held Monday. Rounds three through 10 are Tuesday, and rounds 11 through 40 are Wednesday.

Here is a list in alphabetical order of possible draft selections with connections to Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland or southern Ocean counties:

Denny Brady

Mercer County Community College

The Vineland resident excelled at Mercer County Community College in West Windsor this spring. He was 11-2 with 118 strikeouts in 841/3 innings. Brady has committed to Old Dominion University. A 2015 Buena Regional High School graduate, Brady was The Press Player of the Year that spring. He led the Chiefs to the South Jersey Group II title and was 7-2 with a 0.75 ERA, 114 strikeouts and just 15 walks in 56 innings.

Troy Dixon

St. John’s

The 2013 Egg Harbor Township graduate led the Red Storm to the NCAA Tournament this spring. The catcher batted .394 with three home runs and 35 RBIs. Dixon had a .473 on-base percentage and a .525 slugging percentage.

Jordan Glover


The senior outfielder graduated from Cherokee High School in 2012 and Cumberland County Community College in 2014. The Marlton resident batted .339 with a .425 on-base percentage this spring.

Anthony Harrold

Cumberland County College

The first baseman and designated hitter from Woodbury batted .364 with 10 home runs and 58 RBIs for the Dukes this spring. Harrold graduated from perennial high school power Gloucester Catholic in 2015.

Buddy Kennedy

Millville High School

The third baseman recently worked out for the Los Angeles Angels and the Phillies. He batted .493 with six home runs and 24 RBIs this spring. Kennedy has committed to the University of North Carolina.

Will Latcham

Coastal Carolina

The junior pitcher from Philadelphia graduated from Cumberland County College in 2016. He was 3-0 with 29 strikeouts in 252/3 innings for Coastal Carolina this spring.

Zach Warren


The 6-foot-5 left-handed pitcher from Vineland and 2014 St. Augustine Prep graduate was 2-5 with a save and 34 strikeouts in 511/3 innings this spring. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Warren in the 23rd round of the 2014 draft, but he elected to attend college instead.
